Economic Development
No one wants to remain poor. Still, several families and individuals do not have the skills, or the means to a better wage. So we encourage people to learn more to earn more. This means more self-help groups, training people and introducing better farming methods.
We also assist individuals and self-help groups access government programs meant to uplift them, so they can move out of poverty.
Once our communities become self-sufficient and learn to reinforce that with state support, they strike out on their own. At this stage, we typically move out of such villages and seek other communities that need help.
“Every woman has the power to change her life, if she is willing,” Selvi, Perungulam village.
